In training

We have received a sweet welcome letter from Elder Carl B. Cook (of the 1st quorum of 70) who is the councilor in the Africa SE Area Presidency to whom we will report.  We also heard from the Greens (auditor couple who we will replace) and the Eppels who are a native couple also working in auditing.  They tell us that this mission is the best kept secret in the senior missionary world!  Ha ha. :)  Br. Dahlgren of the Church Auditing Dept has sent us tutorials to help us understand our duties and how the network works.

In our area are 11 missions, 33 stakes, 25 districts & 544 wards & branches.  Should keep us plenty busy!  It covers approximately 30 countries!

A Call to Africa!

Saturday February 16,2013
We went to our mailbox and discovered THE ENVELOPE!
It was our mission call!  We texted all the children to see when we could all get together to open it.
At 4pm we gathered on Google Chat with our hearts pounding the suspenseful drum roll!
You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  You are assigned to labor in the Africa Southeast Area.  !!!!!   Africa?!!!!  Oh my goodness!!
As you can see by our expressions, no one guessed Africa!  What a surprise!
We couldn't be more excited!  We will be serving in the Area office out of Johannesburg South Africa but our area covers 11 missions and aprox 30 countries!!  Here is a map of our area: (in yellow)
Interestingly, Chris and I each got a separate mission call letter (in same envelope).  His said "Your primary assignment is to labor as an area auditor."  Mine said "Your primary assignment is to labor as an office specialist."  Both said our assignment may be modified according to the needs of the area president.
We are to report June 10th!
This appeared on our personal lds.org page.  Chris's says Elder King of course. :)
